Relax user protection measures through Talk Safety Pass

KakaoTalk applies usage limits on some features or user protection measures in accordance with its service policies in order to ensure a safe service environment.
Usage limits may be applied to ensure the stable operation of the service and a safe user environment, while user protection measures may be applied to protect legitimate users when abnormal service use environments or patterns are detected.

KakaoTalk offers the Talk Safety Pass feature so that users can use the service more smoothly. Talk Safety Pass is a feature that allows users who have signed up for Kakao Certificate services using a South Korean mobile phone number (+82) to verify their identity with a Kakao Certificate and thereby raise the applied usage limit or relax user protection measures.

Once your identity has been verified through Talk Safety Pass and the service is used normally, any inconvenience caused by the applied limits or user protection measures can be reduced, allowing you to use KakaoTalk more safely.

However, if the thresholds set forth in the service policies are exceeded, or if abnormal service use environments or patterns are repeatedly detected, usage limits or user protection measures may be reapplied.

Please take care not to share your mobile phone verification information or account verification information used to issue a certificate with any third party. Should any transactions or attempts to transact another person's personal information be substantiated, use of KakaoTalk services may be restricted as a measure to protect users.
