Parental Controls

KakaoTalk provides Parental Controls to support safer service use by children and youth.
A guardian registered as the representative of a Kakao Family Account may invite members under the age of 19 who are registered in the Family Account to be subject to Parental Controls. The settings will be applied once the child accepts the invitation.
Guardians can manage their child’s use of Short Form and Open Chat services. Access to these services may be fully restricted or limited to certain features only. Children can view the settings applied by their guardian.
Parental Controls can be accessed in the KakaoTalk mobile app under: “More (•••) > Settings (cogwheel icon) > Family Account > Parental Controls.”
If you do not have a Family Account, you must create one before using Parental Controls. Parental Controls will be automatically disabled once the child reaches the age of 19.
