Information on substances harmful to minors

Kakao does not permit information that promotes, justifies, or depicts in an excessive or explicit manner the use of substances harmful to minors (including alcohol, tobacco, narcotics, and other substances harmful to minors, as well as items harmful to minors), which can seriously harm the health and safety of children and adolescents.

However, scenes that simply depict normal adult activities, such as drinking or smoking as part of everyday life, are allowed. This policy is intended to restrict excessive, repetitive depictions or content that glorifies or encourages such activities in service areas accessible to minors.

If Kakao identifies the distribution of such content in areas accessible to all KakaoTalk users through reports or other means, it may take appropriate measures based on the severity, form, and content of the information. These measures may include restricting access to certain KakaoTalk services, limiting search results or content exposure, or restricting the use of chat rooms.

Examples of prohibited content are as follows.
